Cantel has been supplying area contractors and other businesses with their needs since 1959. They took the plunge a few years ago on a website, however, it soon became woefully out of date. That’s where Thompson Northwest came into the picture.
In working with the principals, we came up with a list of goals for the site:
- Obviously, it needs to be easy to update and keep current.
- Ideally, it can be updated without having to learn special programming languages or HTML.
- Photos and lots of them.
- Prices are specfically omitted from the process due to the competitiveness of the industry.
As of this writing, the site has been developed. Training of the staff is underweigh and all feel that the progress is promising.
Need a top notch sign, graphics for your vehicle, or saftey equipment for all types of contruction products? Cantel is the company for you. Want a website for your business that does everything that this one does? Thompson Northwest is the solution for you. Give me a call today.
Lance Thorne builds some of the most amazing furniture that you have ever seen. His willingness to work with multiple woods and lines and curves that don’t necessarily have to meet at 90 degree angles mean that each and every piece he creates truly is one of a kind. He came to me for a website that would help him to share his portfolio with prospective customers, in order to help tease out the unique features that should be included in their order.
This is the second site that I have built for Lance. As with the first site, he had some pretty specific requirements for this site:
- An easy-to-work-with architecture. HTML free if possible.
- Photos have to be easy to add and manipulate. And they have to allow high resolution so the details of his work show through. No distortion allowed.
- The data should be search engine friendly once entered.
- The colors and fonts should align with his work – a bit whimsical but in an understated kind of way.
Mission accomplished. Even if you aren’t in the market for some new furniture today, you really need to check Lance’s handiwork. You’ve never seen anything like it. And if you are ready to add a little art to your home, give Lance a call. While there, feel free to ask him out his site and the learning curve he’s mastered to manage it on his own. Lawrence’s has been a downtown fixture for over 100 years. They made a move to have a website built a couple of years ago, but the site was built on a real technical platform. When I met Jerry Horton in 2009, the site hadn’t been updated in over 2 years.
Jerry is a 5th generation jeweler and so knows the business forward and backwards. In addition to the jewelry lines that have been the backbone of the business, Lawrence’s has been known as the place to get a watch repaired in our region. In addition, they have added some incredible lines of collectables over the years, such as fine porcelain figurines from Llardo, and the premier crystal in the world from Waterford.
Jerry’s goals for the new site were:
- Foremost, the site must be able to be updated on a regular basis without learning HTML.
- Have the ability to offer e-commerce but allowing the staff to pick and choose the items that are highlighted.
- Improve the SEO over the original site.
- Host the site in a way to allow for email addresses for all of the employees.
Lawrence’s is well on their way with this site as of this writing. The structure of the site is there and the training is underway. Stay tuned for more developments from this site for one of the cornerstone businesses of our Valley.
